How to stop Packet Loss in Carbon while viewing cameras under the Monitoring tab.
Logging into the cameras with Packet loss.
If you are using PMT Security cameras:
Use your IP3 Tool to find the IP of the cameras. Double click the camera to open the logon page.
Default Name: Admin
Password: 123456
NOTE: If third-party cameras are being used, then make adjustments with the manufacturer's tools.
Locate the Config tab and select.
Select Image.
Lower the Resolution, Frame Rate, and Video Quality.
Start by lowering the FRAME RATE, realistically, 15 fps should be ample for most surveillance uses. If this does not fix the dropped packets issue, then move on to lowering the RESOLUTION an as a last resort, you can lower the VIDEO QUALITY.
It is important to try to find a balance between reducing lost packets and overall quality of the video stream, experiment with these settings to achieve optimum results.
Select Save
NOTE: you may need to make adjustments to multiple or all devices in order to reduce packet loss on the network.
(Note you may have to continue adjusting these settings until Carbon Monitoring no longer displays symbol below).
